I’m a little bummed today and seriously under the weather. Valentine’s Day is only a day away and I’ve had to accept the fact that I’m not going to get in everything that I planned on baking for the holiday. My son and I came down with strep, so not only am I low on energy, but nothing tastes good either. I’m sure my scale will thank me next week.
Pre-illness, I gave a pack of Oreos a makeover by dressing them up in chocolate for a few of our friends. It’s commonly known that everything tastes better when dipped in chocolate, right? These fancy treats are really simple to make. You can make them in one of two ways, dip them into chocolate and decorate with sprinkles before the chocolate sets or use candy molds (which interestingly are marketed as soap molds too). There are a few sites that sell these molds online, but I was warned that not all candy molds are made the same. I ended up purchasing mine through Spinning Leaf which was a little pricier, but the shipping was reasonable and they send a free mold with every order.
If you’re hosting a party, this is an easy, inexpensive favor and looks darling all wrapped up with a bow. Several companies out there will do
all of the work for you, but I think part of the gift is taking the time to make something for that special someone. The little boxes came from Fancy Flours and fit two dipped Oreos perfectly. There are molds for baby showers, St. Patrick’s Day, and much more so even when Valentine’s has passed, Oreos can still enjoy their make-overs.

Thoose do look really yummy i must admit
