Our annual pumpkin carving party last night was a blast! The week played out in fast motion and I haven’t had a spare second to post. Fast and furiously favor bags were put together and I baked up a storm. Fifty homeade chocolate spider webs topped the creepy cupcakes and the eyeball brownie bites disappeared faster than any dessert I have ever served. Thank goodness for my Queen of Entertaining mom who always helps me pull off such a great celebration!
One of the party favors we handed out at the end of the night were these adorable Halloween S’mores pacakges. They were a huge hit with the kids and I loved how simple they were to put together. I used lollipop cellophane bags and included a graham cracker, mini Hershey bar, and a Halloween peep. My son and I love peeps and buy them for holidays year round. The Halloween message, “Halloween S’mores for one of our favorite peeps!” was printed on orange cardstock and stapled to seal the favor bag…Voila!
I’m buzzing around today getting ready for Round 2 of the festivities. More friends and family are coming back for dinner tonight and trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. I can’t wait to see all of the kids in their costumes. My boy has even decided to dress up this year, as is his little devilish dachshund. I am so blessed to have such amazing friends and family. This is what life is all about – friends and family, something to celebrate, dessert, and a martini or two! Have a happy and safe Halloween!
Lots more to share next week and a great giveaway!!

Those favor bags are THE cutest! Love the spiderweb toppers, too!
Great party Katie. The girls had a great time! I think I am going to have to make my little goblins those brownie pops. They gobbled them right up.
I read about your blog in the newspaper last night and your name sounded so familiar to me. I think I finally figured it out! Are you friends with Jen Williamson?
Happy Sunday from another Ladera Ranch blogger!
Debbie
Hi Debbie,
Jennifer and I used to teach together about ten years ago. I haven’t had contact with her in all of these years though. Doesn’t that drive you crazy when you can’t place someone?? You’re blog is beautiful. You are a truly gifted writer and such an inspiration. I literally had chills reading a few of your posts. Blogging is such an amazing platform to touch lives around the world. You’re blog is a perfect example of that!
That s’mores treat bag is genius… I’m totally stealing it for Christmas treats. So cute!
I loved this idea too! They’d be cute for any holiday. Hope you guys had fun at your Halloween party! I’m exhausted!!
Hi Kate,
Thank you for your very kind words! Your blog is very inspiring, as you have such wonderful ideas!
I knew that I recognized your name from somewhere! I still talk to Jen, although not as much as I used to. I think that I called you when Jack was diagnosed. She gave me a list and I think you might have been on it. That was a long time ago, thank God, and he is doing pretty well now. Jen used to talk about you all the time. She often said that you are one of the best teachers and nicest people that she has ever met. Funny that I have come around to find you in this way! Blogs make the world a much smaller place!
Have a wonderful day!
I want to see the brownie eyeball treats – they sound really cool! Will I ever make them – probably not – but that is what your blog is for – us untalented people get to live vicariously through you!
I’ll post pics. this week of the eyeballs. You could totally make these Terry, or I can make them for you!
I got all the things to make pretty baby blue brownie bites for my friends baby shower. I even found shimmer white frosting gel. I am going to try to polka dot them. So excited.
oh, so cute! I love the picture and the favors! Thanks for sharing and man, I missed a fun party!
luvu all!
