Christmas Tree-tini

Decorating for Christmas this year  has presented a few challenges. First off, the pre-lit Costco tree (yes, I know it’s untraditional!) is falling apart one branch at a time and just when I finally had all of the loose branches wired down, one of the strands of lights decided to go out. I’m obsessive about draping the garland perfectly on the tree and this year it is not cooperating. But the biggest challenge, by far, has been the Naughty Dachshund. This is her first Christmas and boy am I in for it. Whenever she walks past the tree, she bites at the branches and she doesn’t think I’ve noticed the garland on the stairway that she’s slowly working on taking down. She’s already made a mental list of all of the Christmas decorations she plans on eating over the next month. My son informed her that she’s on Santa’s naughty list, so I think she figures, why stop now.

Somehow all of these challenges have been easier to handle while sipping this Christmas Tree-tini. This one is dangerously good – Have too many and you’re sure to be rockin’ around the Christmas tree!

Ingredients

1 oz  Coconut Rum
1 oz  Peach Schnapps
1 splash Rum
Cranberry Juice
Pineapple Juice

Fill martini shaker with 2/3 ice, then pour the coconut rum and the peach schnapps. Add some pineapple juice till about 3/4 of the glass is filled and fill the rest with cranberry juice. Finish with a splash of rum.

Hay you, I thought that might be a problem. Chester was at ours all year last year. Put up a wire round gate around it. They use them for bunnies and stuff. Just a thought. Life with DOGS is never boring. haha keri

Ha, what a funny pup! I can imagine if Kobee and Jubee were in the house and ON the tree, they would think they’re back in their natural habitat! Good luck and hope your sweet pooch is all recovered now!

‘Love the Christmas tree Peep garnish! You’ve got to make that mandatory for the recipe.
