Fresh Raspberry Blended Cocktail… Who Says Beer is a Man’s Drink?

You would think I would have been born a beer lover. My dad used to be a beer salesman for Schlitz beer back in the day. He spent his weekdays meeting with clients over cold beers from 9-5. Actually, I’m not sure he even made it until five. How that was even called a job, I’m not sure.

We all have certain stories about our childhoods that have been told time and time throughout our lives.  Well, one of the classics in our family has three main characters ~ a beer, a dachshund, and me. It seems the dachshund and I would enjoy a little beer together from time to time. She drank a little from her dog bowl and I was given a swig or two from my sippie cup. No one ever called Social Services (that I know of), and I think I turned out okay (But I guess that’s a matter of opinion!).

Aside from toddlerhood, beer has never appealed to me. I did drink a bit of cheap beer in college ~ (if you call it beer), but that’s pretty much the extent of it. With the exception of a Corona with lime a couple times a year, I avoid beer altogether. Well… that was until I concocted this pink, raspberry beer.

Similar to a Skip and Go Naked cocktail, this drink combines vodka and beer with a few other ingredients to create a somewhat sweet, and a little bit tart cocktail. Raspberries are on sale right now, and since they can be expensive certain times of the year, I like to use to use them in my recipes when they’re affordable. You can always substitute frozen raspberries in this, but there is nothing like the taste of fresh raspberries in season.

Once everything is blended up, you don’t taste the beer. This is probably why it appeals to me. Needless to say, I did not pour any into the Naughty One’s bowl or give the boy a taste (don’t want Social Services to come knocking). The Naughty One did sneak away with a raspberry, and actually liked it. Let’s hope she doesn’t except them all year long.

Raspberry Blended Cocktail

1/2 can beer

1/3 cup raspberry vodka

1/2 can raspberry lemonade concentrate

1/2 cup fresh raspberries

Fill a blender halfway with ice. Add beer, vodka, raspberry lemonade concentrate, and fresh raspberries. Blend until smooth.

Cheers to doing what appeals to you this week!

I’m not a big fan of beer but I would definitely enjoy this drink! So refreshing looking.

I really did make it to 5 on a few days. And the Doxie and the little girl were very happy.
