Going Bananas Martini

Today is National Banana Bread Day and though I considered baking fresh banana bread, I decided it just wouldn’t be right to give up my Martini Monday.  Martinis on Monday make me happy! Usually by Monday afternoon, things around here start going bananas, so this cocktail is fitting for the first day of the work and school week.  Cheers to a great week ahead! And if anyone else out there happens to be crazy enough to have a chimp for a pet, I think he’d prefer this drink over a bottle of wine any day!

This drink tastes like banana nut bread, with a few chocolate chips sprinkled in! This would also be great blended in a blender with half a banana, poured into a martini glass, rimmed with Hershey’s syrup and chopped nuts! – Now that sounds good!

Going Bananas Martini

1 oz. banana liqueur

1 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream

.5 oz. butterscotch schnapps

.5 oz. cream

splash of amaretto

Combine the ingredients in a martini shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a martini glass. Garnish with s banana slice – even better, garnish with a chocolate covered banana slice!
