I come from a family that will celebrate anything! Since this is the first official day of “Grin and Bake It”, a birthday celebration is definitely in order – plus, let’s be honest, it’s also a great excuse to enjoy a martini on a Monday! The Birthdaytini was created during a martini brainstorming session that one of my girlfriends and I had one evening. Since “Cake Batter” has become one of the most popular flavors of today, we wondered why none of our local martini hotspots offered a cake batter flavored martini. My mom and I did a taste tasting this past weekend and changed the original recipe slightly. With martinis it’s not just about taste, but also about presentation. Okay, I’ll be corny and add that this martini takes the cake”.
Birthdaytini:
2 oz. vanilla vodka
2 oz. creme de cacao
1 oz. amaretto
1 oz. whipping cream
icing and sprinkles
Directions: Start with your favorite kind of icing (If you choose white, you can add food coloring to make your favorite color). Using a martini rimmer, spread the icing around the outer area. If you don’t have a martini rimmer, a small plate will do. Flip your martini glass into the icing to coat the rim. Add your favorite birthday sprinkles before the icing sets. You can add a drop of red food coloring if you want to make it a pink martini. Add all of the ingredients to the martini shaker. Shake vigorously, pour, sip, and make a wish! Thanks for being part of Grin and Bake It’s first year! CHEERS!
