This week’s cocktail is a combination of two of my favorite drinks, martinis and margaritas. Celebration is in the air this week. It’s not a national holiday and I’m officially done celebrating my birthday. No, this is something much more important to celebrate…it’s FINALLY pay day!! I’ve been waiting since the end of June to get paid again. Teachers do get summers off, and I’ll admit it is a great perk, but going without pay for 12 weeks…not such a perk! Almost all of my paycheck will go towards monthly bills, but I’m celebrating being back on the payroll!
I spent the past couple of days making cookie favors for a birthday party. I also made margarita sugar cookies for my mom’s Bunco party. I’ll share pictures tomorrow. My mom has also been in a celebratory mood. Finally, she has been able to host a party in her renovated (just about done) new kitchen. It was a Mexican themed party and her tables turned out amazing! As always, it was her signature little touches that took it from ordinary to extraordinary . The Party Queen will be posting the recipes and details later this week. I got to come over before the party started and taste test her desserts. You don’t want to miss them!
Cheers to seeking out more things to celebrate this week!
