Hope you had a great weekend! It seems the only baking I’ve been able to fit in over the last few weeks has been for orders. I’m not complaining! I love it and it’s a great form of calorie control for me. The first order was for Laura who ordered cookies for her niece’s preschool class to celebrate her third birthday. Is that a great Aunt or what? Hailey loves animals, so we picked a few spring animals that had enough room for me to pipe her name on. Laura asked if I would do an extra special cookie for Hailey that looked like her favorite blankie ~ chocolate brown with light pink polka dots. The little horse didn’t leave me enough room to pipe the letters, so I added a cupcake cookie to the birthday girl’s bag.
The second order was for Nancy who was going on a quilting retreat and wanted to bring some treats along. Originally, she asked if I had a sewing machine cookie cutter. When she told me what the occasion was, I had the perfect cookie in mind. Pam’s blog Crazie Cookie is a blog I link to and visit regularly. She is a master cookie decorator and definitely a baking inspiration. You have to go see what she’s created for yourself! One of my favorite cookies she makes are quilt cookie squares. I decided to make these for Nancy in spring colors, and loved how they turned out. Thanks for the inspiration Pam!
Wishing you a great week ahead! I’ll be back to post this week and share a quick treat that will satisfy your chocolate craving!

Aw, little Hailey must have loved her gorgeous cookies and the group at the quilting retreat are going to be amazed at your quilted cookies. Pam is a wonderful cookie artist and such an inspiration to so many bakers.
Aww! My favourite cookie out of all of those has to be either the little cupcake or the horse! So delicious-looking!
Very cute!
These are all so sweet! I like the cupcake the best with its smattering of chocolate sprinkles.
