I’ve gone back and forth about skipping Martini Monday. Sometimes my over analytical personality drives even me crazy! I’m still fighting this flu-cold virus and now think this may be foreshadowing what’s to come next year when I’m exposed to billions of kiddy germs, back in my classroom. (Think positive…martini glass half full attitude!)
To indulge or not to indulge? Okay, you convinced me… I’ve decided to go forward with our regular Monday post and not let my fellow martini lovers down. Since my body is in serious need of some antioxidant germ fighters,
I’ve concocted this Super Foods Berry martini. In spite of my sugar-carb cravings, I wholeheartedly believe super foods are the way to go. I am a Dr. Pratt Super Food groupie and believe God put him here to help us rethink all of the refined foods we’re consuming. Now I’m not sure he will endorse this SF martini – I’m taking full responsibilty for this one.
This martini is blended. Some might say this no longer makes it a martini, but by my definition anything you pour into a martini glass makes it martini-esque. This one was border line, but with the addition of a little light rum, it definitely earned martini status.
Here is what’s packed into this martini… berries full of disease fighting antioxidants, honey which also possesses some serious antioxidant power, bananas loaded with potassium, and yogurt with “live active cultures” pre- and probiotics, calcium, and protein. The rum, well unfortunately, that doesn’t have the antioxidant power of red wine, but it does give it even more pizazz.
I’m feeling better already! Cheers to a healthy, happy week ahead! June is officially here and I can almost taste summer!

“Martini-esque?” Now that’s an awesome phrase! ‘Glad you’re feeling better.
PLEASE don’t do away with Martini Monday! I look forward to it every week. And I totally agree: anything (OK, it should be liquid-esgue) in a martini glass is a martini. Great job on the healthful version!
