Wedding Dress Cookies

These are a few of the wedding dress cookies that were ordered for a bridal shower on Saturday. I made each dress a little different. I love how they turned out! (I’m hoping the bride-to-be will too!) One of the bride’s accent wedding colors is peach, so the ladies hosting the shower asked me to include a little peach on the cookie design.

Even post-divorce, I still have a thing for weddings. I love the idea of two people, completely in love, committing to share their lives together (hope-ful romantic, I know!). I don’t believe there’s just one person out there for everyone, but I think when you find “the one” you’re meant to be with, it’s an intense connection you’ve never felt with anyone else. (This is what I’d like to believe.)

The boy has recently developed a list of “rules” about who I “can” marry. He has a list of rules for his dad too, but I don’t think he shares those as freely with him. The boy is wise beyond his years, and I think in the end he would like both of his parents to find people who truly make us happy, and not settle for anything less. This week, the boy informed me that it doesn’t matter to him if I get married in the next three years. Regardless, he would like one of three things… another wiener dog, a pool, or a disco ball (I have no idea where in the world the disco ball came from, but I’m LIKING it! Not exactly sure where to buy one, or who to get to install it, but he’s graciously given me three years to make it happen.

I will say this… I had a fabulous wedding. It was the biggest party I ever planned, and the most fun wedding I’ve ever attended. However, if I do remarry I can guarantee a few things will be different…

  1. The focus will be less about the BIG day, and more about the rest of my life.
  2. I WILL NOT enter my reception with “Here’s to you Mrs. Robinson” blaring in the background.
  3. In order to get on the invite list, you must know my middle name, favorite kind of cookie, and the real name of my naughty dachshund. Being introduced to a whole bunch of guests at your wedding who you’ve never met before is a bit strange.
  4. I will eat a piece of my wedding cake (possibly two). Missing out on a piece of my own wedding cake was a tragedy!!
  5. Finally, I’d like to think the next time will be forever!

These wedding dress cookies are so beautiful in their simplicity and the addition of a little peach colour here and there is perfect. Your little peach flowers are adorable.
Love how *the boy* thinks (you can probably source a disco ball on ebay) less work than a pool but not as loyal as a little wiener dog LOL
You should start looking as I have a feeling you may be needing to fulfill his request within the three years. The next time will be the best!

Kate- The cookies were amazing, both in appearance and taste. They were quite the topic of conversation amongst all the ladies at the event.
P.S. Loved your list of ideas for your future wedding. I almost spit my coffee out when I read the part about your grand entrance song! Hilarious.

These cookies are gorgeous it’s almost a sin to eat them! I just want to put them in my pocket and keep them forever! Wow you are such an artist Kate.

And by the way, I’m happy to know that you have not given up on love. That’s great because thinking that there’s only one person out there for us forces us to settle. I know you are a strong girl because you fought for your freedom. You are destined to meet your man and I’m sure he’s rushing his way to get to you right now. Keep the attitude girl!

    Much love and hugs.

‘Finally catching up after Lent — it has been a long, long 40 days — and this was the first post I read. Those dresses are so pretty. They should order more as placecards for the wedding! Maybe you can do a cute tuxedo for the boys…

  9. They came out so beautifully! I love how you did each different. Very artistic. LOVE IT!

    Kate,
I was one of the shower attendees at your mom’s home. The cookies were a HIT! Every one of them was adorable. Mine did make it home intact only to be devoured by Bill who said it was the best! Maybe I should place the order now for my wedding-my second and last. Just need to come up with a date and venue. Your website is very fun! Keep up the good work. You will find the right guy-he is out there looking for you right now.
